Best...Celebrity Siting...EVER!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

As a matter of complete coincidence, I just followed Boy George and a male companion down Spring Street to the Bowery. The Ultimate Clown Prince Fashionista of the Eighties was clad in scrubbier clothes than I wear to work, which in some ways calls more attention to him than the full on bleeding-head goth drag he most recently sported (this is Manhattan after all). Or perhaps it's the giant pentagram tattoo which adorns his bald spot that's drawing all those looks? Couldn't be the garish clutch of roses just below it...

Lord...I loves him.

Are you sure that's a tattoo and not just makeup? One never knows with her. Besides, tattoos on bone HURT and I just don't see him sitting through it all - not sober anyway.

Yes, I think you're too readily dismissing his devotion to mind-altering substances...these things were probably conceived and applied during quite a bender.

Back when he wasn't a heroin addict, he was a drag addict? I have his book Take It Like A Man, autographed, natch. The only time I've stood on line for a celeb book signing.

Did you read the sequel, Straight?

No. Frankly the prose in the one was so ghastly I couldn't bring myself to read the second.

Amen.

I had an autographed copy too, I sold mine on eBay and got maybe $20 for it.

The first was one of the best rock music bios ever, and though I havent read the second one yet,I did love the quote from Marilyn:"There are three kinds of truth:George's,mine, and the truth!"

I <3 George. I think it's just makeup, it's part of his Leigh Bowery thing. One of Leigh's big fetishes was doing wierd things like that on his head with makeup.

George does have a real tat on his neck though

STALKER!

Thanks for the titilating glimpse of slovenly celebrity!! Get 'em in now, cause once you are in Davis, you won't have many celebs to stalk (apart from those who arrive late at night by limo to the bearsgonewild ranch and spa.....shh....top secret!). One of my favorite (or, as the case may be, one of the most bizarre) New York celebrity sightings was when I was walking on the upper East Side in the early 90's and literally RAN INTO Richard Nixon! His two bodyguards were on either side of him and i reached out to stop us from colliding and touched his shoulder. After a brief moment of confusion and incredulity (on my part) his handlers whisked him away and I found the nearest bathroom to wash the slime off my hands.....oh how I wish I had a camera with me.....

Just when he catches up to Genesis P'Orridge, good ol' Gen takes a turn even Boy won't take.
